Your Facebook Fan Page posts will get more likes over the weekend.
Yesterday, I had the privilege of tuning in for the world’s largest webinar. The good people at Hubspot and Hootsuite hosted The Science of Inbound Marketing webinar, where Dan Zarrella unleashed statistical fury on social media. It was a a real treat. Very glad I tuned in.
I get asked all of the time, “When is the best time to post on Facebook?”. Well, I finally have a research-based answer to give you.
Here it goes.
Your Facebook Fan Page posts will get more likes and user activity on Saturday and Sunday.
This makes sense. Most people are off work and have more leisure time to peruse their Facebook newsfeed. If you want to take advantage of more eyeballs and higher engagement, you need to post fresh content over the weekend.
Fortunately, because of Facebook’s new post scheduling feature, this won’t be quite as painful. You can schedule your weekend posts ahead of time, before you leave the office on Friday.
Your Facebook Fan Page posts will get more engagement between 4PM and 5PM.
Just because Saturday and Sunday are the best times to post on Facebook, it doesn’t mean you should forget the weekdays. If you only post once per week, save it for Saturday.
During the week, you should post on Facebook between 4pm and 5pm.
Posts made during this time get the most user engagement. More likes, more comments.
I’m glad to finally have a simple answer to the most asked question. The next time someone asks me, “Hey Jason, when is the best time to post on Facebook?”, I’ll have a simple answer.
In summary, the best time to post on Facebook is over the weekend. However, when posting during the week, you have the greatest chance of reaching more people when posting between 4PM and 5PM.
