“Jason Stambaugh gets it. He gets the Church. He gets the message of Jesus. He gets culture. He gets social networking. He gets the intersection of all of them. His insight in all of those areas has been invaluable for The Journey Church Community. Wevival, Shop My Church, his consulting abilities and everything else he’ll be launching in the coming months and years are going to redefine how we all go about this mystery we call ministry. He cares about the church: local and global. And I’m so glad he here to help our generation navigate our role in them.”
Wevival began working with The Journey Church Community toward the end of 2010. The first project was to rehab The Journey’s website. The existing site was built on the WordPress platform (which is awesome) but was woefully stale, with dated content and broken links. Since The Journey is a small church, it didn’t have the man hours to keep the site up-to-date. After some consideration we decided to create a new website for The Journey, starting with a standard html/css template. You can check out the site here. The new site provides basic information about the church, but places a strong emphasis on visiting The Journey’s Facebook fan page.
The Journey’s fan page is where community happens. Journey members connect on the fan page and are constantly updated with the latest church news, events, sermons, and thoughtful commentary. This follows Wevival’s philosophy that churches need to build their community out in the open. Facebook is the best place to do that. Wevival continues to offer its consulting services to The Journey, helping it to engage new and existing members every week. Every strategy and content campaign we create is to help The Journey succeed in providing time and space for people to find and follow God together.
Our next project is to help The Journey Church Community create an effective church marketing campaign to reach more people in Eldersburg, MD.
*Disclosure* Jason Stambaugh is an active member at The Journey Church Community and a member of the church’s Strategic Leadership Team.
