Welcome to our new site. If you’ve been here before you will notice a lot of changes. Many of which are kind of a big deal. The biggest though, is what we are going to be talking about here. Of course you are going to find company updates and information about our products and services, but we are going to be sharing human stories, stories about how the web and web technology has helped businesses, non-profits, and other organizations grow and get their community on a mission together.
Consider this the first human story. When I launched Wevival full-time in August of 2010, I wasn’t too sure about what I should say. So folks can see the contrast, I’m leaving the old site online. For starters, having a newly launched business, I struggled a bit to find my niche and focus. This lack of clarity about my company carried over into the site content and blog. The old site turned out to be an exercise in finding my voice and discovering my own unique place in the dynamic conversation about social media, marketing and web strategy. This site refresh is the culmination of that experience.
It is ok to find your voice. Work it out. The current direction of Wevival and our mix of products and services was directly shaped by the exercise of blogging, of sharing what I was thinking about and finding in that experience a refined sense of purpose. I promise, if you start blogging and sharing information about your company, it will change everything. It changes how you see yourself, how you see what you do, and what your community needs.
Moreover, once you start blogging, you’ll want to find out what other people are saying. Let’s say you own a carpeting business. There are probably quite a few people out there talking about carpeting and carpeting services already. Once you find out what they are saying, you’ll see what’s missing. By writing and talking about what’s missing, you will be offering a lot of value to the conversation. Well, there are a lot of people out there currently talking about the web. A lot of tips, tricks, guidelines and food for thought regarding social media, marketing, and web strategy. What’s missing? A telling of where all of those things meet real people and their organizations. That is what I am going to offer through the Wevival blog.
Please subscribe to receive my blog via email and learn about what is working for businesses, non-profits, and other organizations.
